Approved Sound Insulation Course
Acoustic Associates Peterborough now provides in conjunction with The IOA (The Institute of Acoustics) and The ANC (The Association of Noise Consultants), a four day APPROVED TRAINING COURSE in Sound Insulation for Approved Document E of The Building Regulations.
This course can assist employees of ANC registered companies to gain knowledge to aid Accredited Tester status, and enable Technician Membership of the IOA (TechIOA).
“This is a well-structured training course, aimed at providing an in-depth appreciation of the subject area. Although the course addresses a very specific area of building acoustics, it does provide detailed coverage of not only the relevant measurement and testing protocols but also the underlying design and construction aspects. In terms of academic level, the course is pitched somewhere between certificate of Competence Level and Diploma Level. The teaching material is well designed and presented by experienced professionals”.

Acoustic Associates & Machines for Singing:
‘Machines for Singing’ is an architectural sound installation that 'plugs in' to a building to record the subsonic and supersonic life of its fabric. It was developed by artists Rowena Easton and Mike Blow in partnership with acoustic consultancy Acoustic Associates Sussex and piloted at the Gardner Arts Centre during Architecture Week 06. Acoustic Associates Sussex is keen to raise the profile of acoustics in the public perception: to encourage an increased awareness of sound in the physical environment, particularly among those setting out on their careers.
Jane Chambers, Director, Arts & Business South East, said, “We are looking forward to our third annual Awards immensely. The quality and strength of the applications continues to equally surprise and delight us every year. All of the short-listed partnerships are superb examples of how business and the arts can transform the world in which we operate. Businesses thinking of partnering with the arts need only look at these projects to see how the right partnership can provide return on investment and many other mutual benefits for employees and the wider community.”
